"This is the home at 610 N 14th. I got my first car when we lived here, a 1929 Ford 2-Door. Mom and Pop bought it for me."
- Louis Cohn

"This was a nice little house right across the street from the school. Fannie worked at Lee Wald Garment Company at that time trying to help put some bread at the table. She was making $7.00 a week. That comes out to be less than $.10/hour. Just stop and think about that. That's also where we were living when I got my first, a 1929 Ford 2-Door sudan (see bank loan doc). Mom and Pop bought it for me. It cost about $150. They put down $80 and the rest was on monthly payments. I worked at that time at Odessa Meat Market. I was the delivery boy."
- Louis Cohn

"Lee Wald was Fannie Cohn and my mom, Fannie Baellow's first real jobs. There's a picture of the company. They are in the back row on the left side as you are looking at the photo."
- Beth Stolov Bayzman

"The landlady and her daughter lived next door and her daughter was practicing to be in the opera and she was terrible."
- Hike Cohn Schulman

"When we lived in that house I was in second grade, Bertie was two years older than me and your Zayda (Louis Cohn) came to school to pick us up to walk on Minnesota Ave, to see President Roosevelt. First we went home and had lunch then we walked the six blocks to the parade. Your Zayda (Louis Cohn) would often times meet Bertie and I at school and walk us home. He was our buddy!"
-Hike Cohn Schulman.
