Dear Mom,
How are you and everyone else? I am fine. I am in Amsterdam. It is a nice place to see. I went to the opera last night to see La-Travareta (Josepi Verdi) it cost for the best seats 8 gilders ($2.00).
You have a wonderful family in Dublin. You should keep in touch. I was supposed to leave Dublin last week bu t there was a petrol (gas) strike so I could not leave. I am not sorry about that.
Amsterdam is so old. I have a room and breakfast for 6 1/2 gilders a night (smashing price, is it not?) I am leaving for Brussels in a few days. Tonight I am going to the concert. A lot of the houses are build in the water. I saw the flea market and
took a boat rid to a cheese factory....
