Arnold Gurowitz's parents owned Star Candle Company. In 1945, the same year as this picture was taken, Arnold's mother gave Abba a $5 bill for a birthday present. Abba took it and ran straight to the grocery store on Nostrand Ave and paid off the family tab and brought home bags of groceries.

At the time Violet, Joe, Edith, and Flo were living together at 436 Eastern Parkway. It was one of the few times they all lived together.
