Hi, Todd. This is all true. We actually searched for the farm in South Haven, MI twice. The first time we went to the Van Buren County seat, and looked through the plat books and saw two possibilities of 80 (maybe 70) acre farms with the neighbors Burke and Johnson that Zeidy remembered (those were big wealthy farms). We looked through the beautifully hand written record books of sales of property but did not find Steinlauf; they explained that if it was bought on a contract the name would not be listed. It was a very interesting event. We could not find the farm on the ground, however. It is near Camp Agudah Midwest which used to be Fiddleman's resort. On another trip together with Dovid Neiman, we went around to find the oldest resident, but Zaidy was far older than anyone we found. We looked at many one room school houses and one of them Zaidy remembered and said that he knew how to get home from there, but the surrounding area had all changed. We do have a picture of Bubby and Zaidy standing in front of the school.
